Paul Scholes slams Mourinho for taunting Juventus fans

Scholes is not impressed with the antics of Manchester United boss Mourinho against Juventus.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has slammed Jose Mourinho for mocking Juventus fans after his side were victorious 2-1 in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday, November 7.

An own goal from Alex Sandro and a Juan Mata free-kick produced a come back for Manchester United after Cristiano Ronaldo put the home side in front.

The victory kept alive Manchester United’s chance of progressing to the round of 16 of the competition.


The Juventus supporters were in full voice confident after a 1-0 victory over United in the previous group fixture at Old Trafford.

Their confidence was boosted with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring his first Champions League goal for the club since he joined from Real Madrid.

Scholes was not impressed with Mourinho for his behaviour as he demanded that the Portuguese boss shows more respects.

He said, "You need to win with a bit of class. I don't think there is any need for that. Go over and clap the away fans.

"It is needless but that is just the way he is."

After the game, the Jose Mourinho raced onto the pitch and he made a gesture to the Juventus fans cupping his ears in reply to the taunts he got as the former coach of Inter Milan.

Mourinho defended his actions after the game in his post game interview admitting his actions.


He said, "The game was a very good game, a high-level game. It doesn't matter at the end. We performed at a high level.

"I made a little thing. I respect Juventus, their players, their manager, everything. I am very proud of my boys."

Mourinho who was confronted by Juventus players will now begin preparation for reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in their next league fixture scheduled for Sunday, November 11.
